Divinations emerged out of an attempt to dismantle existing hierarchies and present living folk traditions alongside vocabularies within urban contemporary art. It also attempts to support artistic traditions inherited over generations and to hand back the agency to artists who are the voice and the preservers of an intangible heritage.

All four participating women artists draw upon extraordinary sources, channelling natural forces/energies to allow the audience to participate in explorations of the divine feminine, of nature, and personal mythology.
